shield Or with base barruly wavy of Azure and Argent charged with two fish Gules najant in fess, two sheds Gules being the dexter shed closed Sable and the sinister one open, in chief a Moor´s head proper with beard Sable and headpiece Gules and Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CABÇEA BOA"
Meaning:
The phrase "cabeça boa_" means "good head" in Portuguese. These arms are partly canting for at least part of the toponym, given the tasteless inclusion of a decapitation "trophy"; it very likely stands (also?) for Cabeça de Mouro, one of the five villages located in this commune: "_cabeça de mouro_" means "Moor´s head" The rest of the charges likely symbolises the other three non-nominal villages: The two sheds likely stand for Cabanas de Cima (meaning "upper sheds") and Cabanas de Baixo (meaning "lower sheds"), while and the wavy base likely symbolises thelocal River Sabor and especially the village of Foz do Sabor (meaning Sabor mouth).
