The Lane Cove 12 ft Sailing Skiff Club is located on the lower reaches of the Lane Cove River, Longueville, New South Wales. The Club takes as its origin a program for the Lane Cove Sailing Club for the 1896/97 season. In that year the club conducted races for yachts, boats over 15 feet and boats under 15 feet. The name Lane Cove Sailing Club closely associated the Club from its very beginnings with the Municipality of Lane Cove which was created in 1895. In 1915 a restricted sail area 12ft Skiff was introduced at the Cremorne Sailing Club and three years later the Lane Cove Club took 12ft Skiffs as its main racing class. Upon the demise of the Cremorne Club at the end of the Great War, Lane Cove became the home of 12ft skiff racing in Australia. Today 12ft skiffs remain the Club's senior class.

The burgee of the club is white with a black triangle in the middle and covering all the flag width. The inscriptions LC12ft and SSC are placed in the upper and lower white stripes, respectively. My image was made after the graphical representation of the burgee shown on the club website and might not represent exactly the real burgee. A photograph of the club house placed on the front page of the club website seems to indicate that a rectangular version of the burgee is used as the club flag; the photography is too small to make identification of details, especially writing, possible.
