The coat of arms of Donji Žaba (image) is prescribed in Article 6 of the Municipal Statutes Statut opštine Donji Žabar, adopted on 8 August 2005 by the Municipal Assembly and published on 12 July 2005 in the Municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik opštine Donji Žabar, No. 6 (text), as follows:

The symbol is a coat of arms expressing the historical, cultural and natural heritage as well as the identity of the unit of local self-government.
The base for the coat of arms is a blue shield indicating affiliation to the state association, the immense blue sky above the Posavina plain and freedom and equality of all the citizens of the municipality.
Over the shield is, on a staff, a fluttering flag of Republika Srpska.
In the left top corner of the shield, from the flag, are issuing three equal wheat ears, indicating the predominant activity, the source of food and life, as well as the tradition of the citizens of the municipality.
In the centre of the coat of arms, at the central part of the flag is a yellow ring, in the shape of a circle, and in the centre of the circle is a cross, with its ends linked with the circle making its integral part. The cross symbolizes the spiritual unity of the citizens of the municipality, as well as the significance of the territory of the municipality as an important traffic junction, through which a free flow of people, goods and capital is performed. At the side bars of the cross, at left and right side, are two yellow, stylized firesteels, turned back-to-back.
In the bottom part of the ring, in its circumference, it is inscribed in black colour, in Cyrillic, the name of the municipality, "Donji Žabar".
In the bottom part of the shield is a gusle (folk lute), as a symbol of tradition, historical folklore and cultural identity of the citizens of the municipality. At the top of the lute, ending at the edge of the flag, in its white stripe, is the coat of arms of the Nemanjić dynasty, as a symbol of historical awareness of the citizens of the municipality. The lute is yellow, with brown shadow in its left part.
In the top right part of the shield is an opened book, coloured white, as a symbol of general development and achievements of modern civilization.
