The municipality of Prado Ferreira (3,434 inhabitants in 2010; 15,340 ha) is
located 450 km north-west of Curitiba.
The flag and arms of Prado
Ferreira are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 112 promulgated on 20 May 2003.
Article 2.
The coat of arms of the municipality of Prado Ferreira
consists of a rounded-off Portuguese shield surmounted by a sun, with a scroll
beneath it and supported on the left by a wheat plant fructed and on the right
by a maize plant fructed, bordered by a black outline and divided by an S-shaped
outline of the same, in two fields in proportions 13 units on 7 units.
§1.
The largest field, on the right, on a blue background, the color of the
firmament, symbolizing justice, truth, loyalty and beauty, contains, on the
left, a green sugarcane, representing one of the municipality's crops and on the
right a stylized bovine head, in brown, with the eyes and snout in black,
representing livestock.
§2. The other field, on the left, on a silver
background, symbolizing peace, prosperity, friendship, work, purity and
religious spirit, contains a soybean plant with pods, in green, representing
another crop in the municipality.
§3. The golden sun symbolizes the birth of
the municipality and the conviction of a new life.
§4. The red scroll
contains in silver, in the center, the writing "Prado Ferreira", on the left
"28.09.90", date of creation of the municipality, and on the right "01.01.97",
date of its inauguration.
§5. The wheat plant, on the left, green, with
golden ears, as well as the maize plant, on the right, green, fructed in gold,
also represent crop productions of the municipality.
Article 4.
The
flag of the municipality of Prado Ferreira is rectangular, divided into three
triangles, two green ones, lateral and scalene and a white one, central and
isosceles, containing the coat of arms of the municipality.
§1. The flag
shall be 14 units in width on 20 units in length.
§2. The central isosceles
triangle, with inverted base, is white, pure light, symbolizing integrity,
obedience, vigilance, peace and order; it shall occupy 50% of the field, having
the apex located 10 units in the rectangle's lower length and the base extending
to the entire upper length.
§3. The lateral scalene triangles, in green,
denote faith, symbolizing hope, freedom and the strength of nature; they shall
each occupy 25% of the field, with base 10 units of the rectangle's lower length
and height the full extent of the rectangle's width.
