Description of the flag

The flag of the Town of Deep River, Ontario, is white with town crest on it. The crest is in fact a coat of arms, consisting of shield with diagonal stripe for river, down with tree, and up with atom sign. Above the shield is a beaver facing left. The shield is surrounded by six red maple leafs - three on each side, and below the shield is a scroll with words "TOWN OF / DEEP RIVER". "Deep River (2006 population: 4216) is a town in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. Located along the Ottawa River, it lies about 200 kilometers (124 mi) north-west of Ottawa on the Trans-Canada Highway. Deep River is opposite the Laurentian Mountains and the Province of Quebec. The primary industry centres around research at the Chalk River Nuclear Research Laboratory, in nearby Chalk River, Ontario, a facility of the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.
