Mekinac is a regional county municipality (RCM) in central Québec,
Canada, in the Mauricie region. The seat is in Saint-Tite. The RCM, created
in 1982 has 5.164 km² and 12,500 inhabitants.
The name Mekinac has an
Algonquin origin, meaning "turtle". There are currently 17 subdivisions within the RCM:
