The emblem recalls the ancient "listening tower" (torre d'ascolto) and the lake
of the same name. This is the name of the building with a turret structure in the town of Origlio, about
which there is a legend, referring to the 1950s, at the time of deciding to adopt the coat of arms, which
would derive the name of the Municipality from the verb "to eavesdrop", in relation to the supposed
practice of keeping watch from the windows of the tower to prevent dangers coming from outside.
For this reason, in the 1953 publication of the Armorale we find the reference to the ancient
"listening tower". The Parish has an ancient seal with the effigies of San Vittore and San Giorgio.
