Gesees Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter parted per fess, above Argent a so called bumble-bee-hat Sable with green ribbons, beneath Sable an oak twig Argent with two leaves and one acorn, at sinister Gules a belfry Argent.
Meaning:
The hat is symbolising the local farmers in their role as lay judges. The twig is representing the "broad oak" in Forkendorf village. The belfry is the tower of the pilgrimage church of St. Mary. The tinctures red and white are those of current Franken (Franconia), the tinctures black an white those of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, who ruled the village between 1321 and 1810.
