Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a pale Or, at sinister Argent a donkey´s head Sable.
Meaning:
Rettenbach was divided into a pair of fiefdoms, one of the Bishopric of Augsburg, the other of the Margraviate of Burgau. The basic tinctures red and silver are those of the bishopric. The golden pale is taken from the arms of the margraviate. The head of a donkey is taken from the arms of the Lords of Riedheim, who united the municipality, after they had acquired the fiefdom of the bishopric in 1446 and both parts of that one of the margraviate in 1517.
