Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field is a silver (=white), sinister facing, statant stag holding a branch of the same colour with three leaves in his mouth. The shield has a silver (=white) base cobbled black.
Meaning:
According to source the stag is taken from the court seal of Drensteinfurt from 18th century. The base is canting showing a ford made of cobblestones.

Coat of Arms 1971 - 1976

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field is a silver (=white), sinister facing, statant stag holding a branch of the same colour with three leaves in his mouth. The shield has a silver (=white) base cobbled black. In the upper dexter part of the shield are three silver balls ordered vertically.
Meaning:
According to source the stag is taken from the court seal of Drensteinfurt from 18th century. The base is canting showing a ford made of cobblestones. The balls are taken from the arms of Walstedde family, also alluding to the former municipality of Walstedde, which had been incorporated into Drensteinfurt.
