Les Naufragés du Jonathan, or The Survivors of the Jonathan is posthumously-published novel by Jules Verne. It has also been released in two parts as "Masterless Man" and "Unwilling Dictator".
The book follows the survivors of a shipwreck as they establish a nation
called the Hoste Republic on an island in the Pacific.

In a brief summary of the plot in a reference, they are said to use a "red and
white" flag, but the actual text is nowhere online. Unless
another listmember tracks it down, this vague description will have to do.
