Le Fieu (40,500 inhabitants in 2021; 2,126 ha) is a commune in the Gironde department. It is the fourth-largest suburb of the city of Bordeaux, located to its south side.

Villenave-d'Ornon was a territory already occupied 5 millennia ago. In the first century of our era, there was a Gallo-Roman aqueduct whose purpose was to supply the water network of Burdigala. In the 10th century, when the area was forested and marshy, a wooden chapel was built by an evangelical mission, restored in the following century by a stone church. A parish developed around this building dedicated to Saint-Martin. It was during the Revolution that the parish became the municipality of Villenave-d'Ornon. It grew during the second half of the 19th century and was linked to the center of Bordeaux by the omnibus, then by the tramway from 1902. The demographic explosion took place between the 1950s and the 1970s: businesses, residential areas and small businesses are settling in the town.
