Blessington Sailing Club “is located on the shores of the 5600 acre
Pollaphuca Reservoir, near Blessington, County Wicklow” (SW of Dublin, Ireland)
as stated by the club’s website: http://www.blsc.ie.
Founded in 1960 to sail on artificial Blessington Lake, and surmounting
the initial material difficulties, the club has always been family oriented.
Some of its members have participated in the Seoul Olympics and have partnered
Steve Fossett in his record catamaran trip round Ireland.
Shown as a
drawing on the site, the burgee is white bearing the Irish harp, blue, within a
knotted rope, also blue.
The Membership Booklet (reachable via
‘Membership’ section, left menu) describes it more tersely: “The Burgee shall be
a Harp surrounded by coiled rope in Blue on White Ground” – p. 7 of pdf file:
http://www.blsc.ie/Membership/Membership%20Booklet.pdf.
