The town emblem was adopted on Aug 26th 1955 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is stylized kanji 中山 Nakayama in a form of a flying pigeon as a symbol of peace. The letter 山 represents a peaceful solodarity.
