The city emblem was adopted on Mar 22nd 2005 by Notice No 13 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a white, a blue , a green three color city emblem
in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana ひ Hi of Hitachiomiya in a
form of stream of a river. The blue color stands for Kuji River, Naka River and
Ogawa which provide the city with blessings, the green color for rich mountains
and 5 lines of the blue river for a solidarity of merged five former towns and
village. As a whole, it represents an image of the city which is developing
thru peoples contact and an interchange of industrial culture.
