The Flag

The flag of the city of Tsuchiura is green with mark.

The city emblem was adopted on Jun 8th 1942 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 土 Tsuchi of Tsuchiura. The city emblem depicts a grace drawn by ripples of Lake Kasumigaura and a cherry blossom reflected on the surfice of Sakura River. It represents a concord of the citizen and growing city.
