White stylized Kanji character of Yamaguchi on dark wine red colour field.
The emblem is shaped like a fluttering bird towards the sun which represents
cooperation and progress of people. Adopted 3 September 1962.

Yamaguchi Prefecture Fishery Inspection Vessel ensign was adopted on Jan 29th
1980 by Notice No 83. The white ensign has blue logo mark of stylized kanji 水
Mizu = water and gold prefecture emblem inside on two red horizontal
stripes in the center.

Yamaguchi Prefecture former Fishery Inspection Vessel Ensign was adopted on
Nov 18th 1949 by Notice No 666 which was white ensign charged with blue logo
mark of stylized kanji mizu 水 = water and stylized kanji 山 Yama of Yamaguchi in
white inside on two red horizontal stripes.
