The city emblem was adopted on Mar 21st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized Y of Yanagawa.
The willow leaves and three curved lines make a figure of a man.
The three curved lines symbolize merged one city and two towns and the canal does a riverside town. The green color stands for the nature.
It represents a joy of the citizen who lives together with the nature
and the town ‘s rapid advance.
