The flag of city of Uruma is white with symbol. The city is formed in 2005
from merger of cities of Gushikawa and Ishikawa and towns of Katsuren and
Yonashiro.

The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 1st 2006 by Notice No 32 and No 33.
The white flag has a red, a green and a blue three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana う U of Uruma.
The upper circle symbolizes the sun, the center vertical curved line does the ground and the horizontal curved line does the sea.
It represents the citizen’s reconciliation and solidarity in rich nature and the city’s bright future and the further development.
The flag proportion is 2: 3.
The height of the emblem is 65/100 height of the flag.

2005, part of city of Uruma. Also, until 1994 name of town was Yonagusuku (as
village).
