The town emblem was adopted on Jun 19th 2006 but there is no flag law.
The purple flag has a green, a blue and an orange three color town emblem in the center.
The town emblem is a stylized kanji 八 Ya of Yaese in a form of Mt. Yaese. The center circle symbolizes the town people’s reconciliation.
The green color stands for the vigor of the earth, the blue color for the town living together with the nature and the orange color for the residents spirit.

Certainly looks like inclining towards purple more than the other flag on the
photo.
