Located in Obihiro City, Hokkaido and established in 1949.
The university flag has green background with a white university emblem in the center.
As the only national college of agricultural sciences in Japan, the Obihiro Veterinary School was established in 1941 as a government school with the cooperation of the Ministry of Army and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Although the character in the middle was changed from "高獣" to "大學," the emblem based on the "oak leaf" has been loved and used as the school symbol since its establishment.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the school's founding, it was officially adopted as the university's emblem in 2006.

The ceremonial embroidered university flag has dark green background charged with a gold university emblem in the center and gold fringe with the name of the university at the bottom hoist.
