Flag

Located in Kokubunji City Tokyo and established in 1949. The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark red background with a gold emblem in gold fringe. The university emblem was adopted in 1960, when the university celebrated its 60th anniversary. The hollyhock leaf on the emblem is derived from the fact that the university was founded on a hill in Akasaka Aoi-Cho, which has been called Aoi ga Oka=Hollyhock Hill since the Edo period.
