Flag

Located in Tokushima City Tokushima Prefecture and established in 1966. The university flag has purple background with a white emblem and white kanji university name written horizontally. The university emblem is a leaf of Acanthus spinosus, a species of the genus Acanthus, designed by the then lecturer Kono. The acanthus was chosen as the university emblem because its thorns embody the superior intelligence to handle matters with rigor and precision, and its leaves embody the richness of the ancient Greek aesthetic and artistic sensibility.
