Located in Kofu City Yamanashi Prefecture and established in 1962. The embroidered ceremonial flag has purplish blue background with a gold kanji letter "大學" on a gold paper mulberry leaf in gold fringe. The university flag has navy blue background with a white emblem and white kanji university name written horizontally. The university emblem is based on a leaf of a paper mulberry. The word "Kaji" (paper mulberry)is believed to be connected to "Kaji" (rudder) and to indicate "direction". From ancient times, people wrote letters on the leaves and wished for improvement in their writing to the Tanabata star festival. The Kaji is also the raw material for Japanese paper, and learning developed through paper. For this reason, the school emblem was established based on this symbol.
