On March 17, 2017, the Rayon Council adopted the new law 1/27 "Cu privire la
aprobarea stemei şi drapelului raionului Orhei". So the Rayon of Orhei has new
symbols, which approved by the Moldovan Heraldic Commission. The law is
published on March 31, 2017, in the Monitorul Official al Republicii Moldova.
The flag is white with a small red Saint-George-Cross, centered the new coat of
arms of Orhei Rayon.

This
replaces the old lime-green flag, which was adopted on 2004. The red coat of
arms of the time was based on the Romanian version of 1928.
