According to
https://www.ndb.md/град-твардица-република-молдова-офиц, the town of
Tvardița has adopted a new flag and coat of arms. According to the site, the
symbolism for the flag reads:
"FLAG: The presence of the predominant
green color on the city's flag symbolizes the fertile land of Tvardița. The
green color also symbolizes the hard work of the inhabitants of Tvardița,
hospitality, politeness and friendship (in our case with the neighboring ethnic
groups from the surrounding villages, and some of them also live in the city
itself – Gagauz, Ukrainians, Moldovans, etc.). The green color also symbolizes
the church 'St. Rev. Paraskeva', which has not been closed since 1842 and is an
architectural monument of national importance. In the Orthodox Church, on the
day when saints and reverends are honored, it is customary for priests to wear
green liturgical vestments. For this reason, the church in Tvardița is decorated
on the outside with green, as it is the color of saints and saints such as
Paraskeva."
