The National Anticorruption Center (Centrului Național Anticorupție - CNA)
was established by a Law that came into effect on 1 October 2021, reforming and
renaming the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (Centrul pentru
Combaterea Crimelor Economice şi a Corupţiei - CCCEC), which had been created by
Law No. 1,104 published on 6 June 2002 in the official gazette as the merger of
the Economic-Financial Police Directorate, of the Anti-Corruption Directorate
(Ministry of Internal Affairs), and of the Financial Guard and the Financial
Control and Review Department (Ministry of Finance).

The flag and arms of the CNA, approved by Decision No. 2 issued on 14 March
2003 by the College of the CCCEC, were registered on the Armorial General of the
Republic of Moldova by Decision No. 393 issued on 30 September 2015 by the
Heraldry National Commission and published on 14 April 2017 in the official
gazette, No. 119-126, Article 787.
The flag is composed of a rectangular
(2:3) cloth, dark blue, charged in the center with the CNA's eagle (a yellow
eagle with half-spread wings holding in the beak a yellow cross, in the right
claw a white sword and in the left a white Mercury's caduceus, and on the chest
a shield horizontally divided red-blue, charged with a yellow auroch's head
surrounded by an eight-pointed star between the horns, by a rose dexter and a
contourned crescent sinister, all in yellow).
The flag is a banner of the
Council's arms.
