The Commander-in-chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces is the highest-ranking office in the command structure of the Malaysian military. [Article 41 of] the Malaysian Constitution establishes that the office of Supreme Commander is attached to the person of the Federal Head of State, Yang di-Pertuan Agong. His standard as Commander-in-chief, is consisting of three equal horizontal stripes of sky blue, red and blue, encircled by five gold five-pointed stars.

Flag of the Chief of the Defence Forces is the professional head of the Malaysian Armed Forces and the most senior uniformed military adviser to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King of Malaysia), the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence. This is the highest rank in Malaysia Armed Forces only after the Federal Head of State.
