Shield Or fimbriated Argent, a pillory Azure, flanked by a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert at dexter and a corn cob Gules leaved Vert at sinister, in base a cogwheel Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "VILA DE BALTAR".

The old symbols had been the same, but mural crown with just three visible towers (village rank) and inscription in scroll "BALTAR - PAREDES" and without fimbriation of shield.

Baltar Commune is one of the 18 communes of Paredes Municipality; it had 4818 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 7.7 km². Baltar was upgraded to town status on 1 July 2003.
