The arms are Argent a railway handheld stop signal Gules rimmed and handled Sable per pale between two corn cobs Or leaved Vert and in base two barrulets wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ALFARELOS".
Meaning:
The railway handheld signal in the arms stands for the eponimous railway station, located in the neighbouring commune Granja do Ulmeiro (also with railway themed arms)

Alfarelos Commune is one of the 10 communes of Soure Municipality; it had 1439 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 13.4 km².
