It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Shield Vert two crossbows Or in pale ordered per fess, on central chief a Paschal Lamb statant Argent, on base a grape bunch Purpure leafed Argent under three corn cobs Or in fan, all tied Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILAR DE BESTEIROS".
Meaning:
The name of the commune means hamlet of crossbowmen (Portuguese: besteiros). The crossbows (Portuguese: bestas) are thus canting elements. The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, who is however not the local patron saint. Corn and grapes are symbolising agriculture and viticulture.

Vilar de Besteiros was one of the 14 communes of Tondela Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 893 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 11,77 km².

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "MOSTEIRO DE FRÁGUAS".
Meaning:
The belfry is alluding to a monastery, a local monument. It is also symbolising the religiousness of the local people. The corn cobs are symbolising agriculture. The bridge is a representation of the local Roman bridge and is symbolising the old age of the village. The base wavy is a representation of the Dinha River, crossing the commune.
