Only state authorities are obliged to flag on these days, but private citizens and companies are generally doing it too. Many people of course also fly the flag on birthdays etc. in the family, and some Christian people like to fly it every Sunday. Some people also fly the flag on International Women's Day (8 February), European Union Day (9 May) or Carl XII's Day (30 November) or on the national days of our Nordic neighbour countries.

Just 2010, 19th of June is a flag flying day in Sweden. It is because the Crown Princess gets married on that Saturday.
