Flag of Ödemiş

The flag of Ödemiş (photo) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features an efe (outlaw). These men, who rebelled against local pressures and injustices and settled in the mountains, soon became folk heroes, celebrated by poems, songs, and movies. Their irregular troops were significantly involved in the war against Greece. Ödemiş is the birth place of two legendary efe, Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe (1872-1922), killed by the Ottoman security force, and his relative Gökçen Efe (1881-1919), killed during a skirmish with Greek troops.
