Description

Just above center is a shield with flag-like entities on either side streaming down. On the left is the American flag, on the right is the Alabama flag. On the top are two green pinecones each sitting on blades of grass or green pine needles. The shield itself is blue and green and divided into sections. The upper half is green and divided into two sections by white lines. Inside the left square is a cotton plant, and in the right square a cog. The lower half of the shield is blue and has an oil(?) lamp facing the hoist above the date 1821. Below the shield is an upturned green ribbon with the city's name "FAYETTE" in white caps.

Fayette is the county seat of Fayette County. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 4,285.
