According to City Clerk Melanie Sibbitt, the current "Passion Flower" city logo was adopted on April 13, 2014, and was first used for the flag later that year. The town of Ocoee is named after the Ocoee River in Tennessee: "ocoee" is the Cherokee language word for "apricot vine," which is now called the passion flower.

I've been told by City Clerk Melanie Sibbitt that the current Passion Flower city logo was adopted on April 13, 2014, and that the flag was first used later that year.

The flag appears to consist solely of the department’s badge on a solid black
background.
