OKALOOSA COUNTY TO RAISE NEW FLAG
The Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners will hold a flag-raising ceremony at the Crestview Courthouse on Tuesday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. This event will coincide with the City of Crestview's groundbreaking ceremony for the new War Veteran's Memorial also scheduled at the courthouse grounds at 11 a.m. The Commissioners will be unveiling Okaloosa County's new County flag which was created by George Schweickert of Destin and chosen by the Commission following a county-wide flag design contest. The new County flag will fly over all County offices.
The flag is horizontally divided light blue over medium blue, with a narrow yellow frame, the county seal in the center, also edged in yellow, and two leaping dolphins on either side.
