The town's coat of arms shows a shield with a border of alternating black and
yellow, referencing the "Lord Baltimore's banner" part of the Maryland flag. At
the top of the arms is a white field with the town and state names, along with
the incorporation year underneath. The main part of the shield depicts the red
and white Cross that is used in the "Crossland Banner" parts of the Maryland
flag. The cross splits the main arms into four sections. The first section
depicts a crossed black pick and shovel on a yellow field. The second section
depicts two houses with some shrubbery, along with four families outside the
homes. In the third section is a bridge with a path crossing over a river,
referring to the North Branch Potomac River. In the background shows a sun
rising over some mountains. In the fourth section depicts Wilson's Grist Mill,
an historic mill which was used to produce grain for the Wilson family.

The town also sent me a photo of a folded flag which
hangs in their town hall.
