Introduction: The New York Giants franchise
New York Giants (1925-present)

The New York Giants play in the National Football Conference (NFC) East division, part of the National Football League (NFL). The team was established in 1925 and incorporated in 1929 as the "New York National League Football Company, Inc." to distinguish themselves from the Major League Baseball team of the same name; the corporate name was changed in 1937 to "New York Football Giants, Inc." Throughout their history, the Giants have won division championships 16 teams (1933, 1934, 1935, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1944, 1946, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1997, 2000, 2005, 2008, and 2011), won the conference championship 11 times (1956, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1986, 1990, 2000, 2007, and 2011), won four NFL Championships (1927, 1934, 1938, and 1956) and four Super Bowls (Super Bowl XXI in 1986, Super Bowl XXV in 1990, Super Bowl XLII in 2007, and Super Bowl XLVI in 2011), and appeared in the playoffs 32 times.

The Giants franchise is based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and play their home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, which they share with the New York Jets.

Official flags

There are two flags used by the New York Giants organization at the football games. The flags are carried on the field and used to introduce the players prior to the game, then are carried on the sidelines during the game to keep the crowd engaged and cheering.

Giants Darth Vader Style Flag

This flag is a cross between a New York Giants fan flag and Star Wars fan flag. A similar flag is being made for most NFL teams. The flag has a profile of Star Wars villain Darth Vader on the hoist and the team's logo on the fly. In between are the words "YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE" in one of the team's primary colors on a field of another of the team's colors, with the result being a vision of Darth Vader saying "You underestimate the power of the [NFL team name]."

New York Giants Allegiance Flags

This has become a popular design for fans of many of the NFL teams. It refers to the fans that have pledged their allegiance to their team. One design is based on the American flag, with the colors of the stripes changed to two of the teams' primary colors, as well as the field of the union, while the stars remain white, but overlaid by the team's logo. Another design shows the team's logo centered in the upper half of the flag on a field of one of the team's primary colors. A white stripe separates the logo portion of the flag from the lower one-fourth, which bears the word "ALLEGIANCE" between two stars, all in one of the team's primary colors on a field of another of the team's colors.

Giants Country flag

This is another popular design for fans of many of the NFL teams. It refers to the territory of fans of the team. The design shows the team's logo in the upper hoist and upper fly corners on a field of one of the team's primary colors. Between the logos are the words "YOU'RE IN" above the name of the team, with the word "COUNTRY" in the bottom, all in the team's other primary colors.
