Flag hoisted over the van Roosmalen House - Image by Ivan Sache, 14 April 2001

The booklet Villes d'Art en Flandres (Art Cities in
Flanders), published in 2001 by the Tourism Bureau of Flanders, shows
on p. 10-11 a picture of the van Roosmalen House, captioned "Modern
architecture by Bob van Reeth".
The walls of the house are decorated with alternating horizontal
black and white "stripes" of stone, and there is a flag hoisted over
the house roof. The flag "reproduces" the wall pattern, being made of
four horizontal black-white-black-white stripes. The flag shown on
the picture is very damaged, so I have postulated a standard 2:3
proportion.

The house and the flag can be seen on the
archINFORM website.
The house was built in 1987-88, for Will van Roosmalen, designer and
art collector, in Sint-Michielskai, near the Schelde river, in
Antwerp.
The AWG ArchitektenWerkGroep (Architects Workgroup) got the Vth
Charles Wilford-Award 1986 for projects for this design.
