Overview

Golfito Canton (19,950 inhabitants in 2010; 17,540 ha) is made of the four districts of Golfito, Puerto Jiménez, Guaycará and Pavón. Golfito Canton was established by Decree No. 532 of 10 June 1949, as the 7th canton of Puntarenas Province.
