1998 - coat of arms at this site - it has
an English part where we read: "The village has got 581 permanent residents
(in 179 houses) with their average age being 38. The name of the village
comes from the colonization times and has been derived from a personal
name of the first settler called Skrle, that is why Skrlovice. During the
process of the language development the letter "d" was added, which formed
a remarkable and unique (both in this country and in the world) name of
Škrdlovice with the five independently standing consonants at the beginning
of the word.".
