The former counties of Neustadt an der Aisch, Scheinfeld and Uffenheim merged in 1973 to form the new Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim county. From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website:

The arms were granted on June 14, 1974.

The arms show in the upper sinister half the crest (dog) of the Markgraves of Nuremberg from the Hohenzollern dynasty. The quartered arms of the Markgraves was part of the old Neustadt an der Aisch county arms. The eagle is taken from the arms of Uffenheim, the pallets from the arms of Scheinfeld.
