Description of coat of arms:
The shield is parted per pale. At dexter in golden field is a black bear paw armed red. At sinister in a red field is a silver initial "S". The red mural crown on top of the shield was probably added in 2012.
Meaning:
Sulingen belonged to the Bishopric of Minden and became a possession of the Counts of Hoya in late 15th century. The current pattern is known from seals since 1558. The paw is alluding to the Counts of Hoya, the initial is just a distinguishing mark.
