Wiesenthau Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent four lozenges Gules in pale, at sinister Gules a wing Argent, base embattled parted per pale of Gules and Argent, charged in centre with a fleur-de-lis in counterchanged tinctures.
Meaning:
The lozenges are a differentiation of the arms of the Lords of Wiesenthau, who had been members of the Franconian knightage under direct imperial rule. The wing is a differentiated attribute of the Evangelist St. Matthew, patron saint of the local church. The embattled base is a representation of the local castle. The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary, patron saint of the church of Schleifhausen.
