Perlesreut Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a sinister facing wolf rampant Gules.
Meaning:
The town belonged to the Bishopric of Passau until 1803. The first proper seal was made in 1806 due to its circumscription. The wolf of the bishopric is displayed the same pattern like that on a former court seal. The right to use proper seals was confirmed in 1836. Two local seals and a coloured painting in 1812 displayed the wolf as dexter facing. This version prevailed until 1900, when his direction was changed. The seal had an additional inscription "perleinsreut". The current seal adopted this pattern, which made a difference to numerous other arms, displaying the dexter facing wolf of the bishopric.
