The ratio is given as 1:2. It was a blue over red over yellow horizontal tricolour.

Schüttdorf Coat of Arms

Shield Azure; a narrow high city gate Or with two towers, topped by cone roofs Sable; between them an impending inescutcheon Gules in bend, charged with 18 balls Or.
Meaning:
The city main seal from 1295, the secret seal from the 14th centure and another city seal, proven since 1379, displayed more or less the current gate. It is said to have been the Steintor (literally: stone gate). Alll seals also displayed the inescutcheon, charged with the arms of the Counts of Bentheim. Later seals just displayed three towers with the inescutcheon over the central tower.The current arms are based on the 1379 seal, but the wreaths displayed there have been omitted. The flag colours red and yellow are those of the Counts of Bentheim.
The arms were approved on 14 February 1925 by Prussian Minister of State.
