Meaning:
The vase is alluding to the Fürstenberg China Factory, founded in 1747 on behalf of Duke Karl I of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, the second-oldest porcelain manufacturer in Germany. Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel is represented by the lion. The base wavy is symbolising Weser River.

Shield Gules with base wavy Azure, charged with three barrulets wavy Argent, issuant from base a lion rampant Or tongued Azure.
Meaning:
The current arms were reconstructed from a seal print of 1779. The lion is that one of the Welfen kin.The town, located at a ford across Weser River, belonged to different branches of the Welfen kin since the 2nd half of the 13th century. The arms are canting, displaying a lion crossing a river. The name of the town means "ford of lions".
