Shield Gules, a 7-spoked wheel Argent, superimposed by an inescutcheon Sable, charged with an 8-point star Or.
Meaning:
The wheel refers to the Archbishopric of Mainz, the inescutcheon to the Counts of Waldeck. The number of spokes is representing the villages, which formed Twistetal: Berndorf, Elleringhausen, Gembeck, Mühlhausen, Nieder-Waroldern, Ober-Waroldern and Twiste, which merged on 1 January 1972.
