Willanzheim Coat of Arms

Shield paly of eight of Argent and Azure, an inescutcheon Argent charged with a throughout cross patty SAable, chief Gules three piles reversed Argent.
Meaning:
Willanzheim merged with Hernsheim and Hüttenheim in 1978 and gained the title of a market town, as Herrnsheim had had this status before. The Franconian rake in chief is symbolising the Bishopric of Würzburg, which ruled Willanzheim proper between 1628 and 1803. The barry shield displays the arms of the Lords of Seinsheim, who ruled Herrnsheim. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Teutonic Order. Otto of Lobdeburg, bishop of Würzburg between 1207 and 1223, gave his permission to the order, to establish a branch in Hüttenheim. The order sold its local possessions with all privileges included in 1680 to the Princes of Schwarzenberg.
