Coat of Arms

The shield is parted per chevron embowed, above in a field Or an oak an issuant Azure, having six leaves of the same and three acorns Gules, beneath in a field Gules a lion's head Or.
Meaning:
The municipality with its forestal riches is located in the dominions of the former Solms Counties. Their colours had been blue and yellow (gold). The oak leaves are representing the villages belonging to the municipality.
The coat of arms was approved on 7 January 1988 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
